Bowen Yi

Ciao amici! Mi chiamo Bowen. I’m an incoming CS PhD student at the University of Southern California. I completed my undergraduate degree in CS at the University of Michigan. My research interests lie in Human-Centered NLP, Behavioral Data Science, and NLP for Computational Social Science, with a focus on modeling how personality and cultural differences impact individual behavior across text, speech, and visual modes. I aim to develop AI agents that interpret social and behavioral cues to offer personalized responses, with applications in healthcare.

I am proud to be part of the LIT research group with the one and the only Rada Mihalcea. I also had the fortune to work with David Jurgens at Blablablab.

Before my journey at Michigan, I grew up in Yueyang, Hunan. I am a rare Hunanese who can’t sustain hot spice.
