Bowen Yi

Ciao amici! Mi chiamo Bowen. I am a senior in Computer Science at the University of Michigan. My research interests lie in Human-Centered NLP, Behavioral Data Science, and NLP for Computational Social Science, with a focus on modeling how personality and cultural differences impact individual behavior across text, speech, and visual modes. I aim to develop AI agents that interpret social and behavioral cues to offer personalized responses, with applications in mental health and education.
I am proud to be part of the LIT research group and Blablablab, working with Rada Mihalcea, Veronica Perez-Rosas, Maggie Makar, and David Jurgens.
Before my journey at Michigan, I grew up in Yueyang, Hunan. I am a rare Hunanese who can’t sustain hot spice.
Update: I will join the University of Southern California as a CS PhD in fall 2025. Fight on!
